Free Medical Camps Programme at Shilmoon Hospital

Multi-specialty clinical consultation and relief camps organized 2–3 times every year at Shilmoon Specialized Hospital — delivering free diagnostic testing, medical treatments, and essential medicines during seasonal viral outbreaks and dengue surges.

Frequency: Organized 2–3 Times Every Year
Care: Senior Specialists & Clinical Consultants
Cost: 100% Free Consultation & Prescriptions

Background & Human Impact

In densely populated and semi-urban communities, seasonal health crises — particularly during monsoon dengue outbreaks, post-flood periods, and winter viral surges — place severe strain on underprivileged families. Many delay seeing a doctor simply because consultation fees, diagnostic tests, and brand medications exceed their daily earnings.

To bridge this critical healthcare divide, Mohammed Tajul Islam instituted the Free Medical Camps Programme at Shilmoon Specialized Hospital. Rather than sporadic, one-off events, these camps are systematically scheduled 2 to 3 times every year to mobilize specialized clinical resources right when vulnerable populations need them most.

Clinical Services & Camp Operations

Each camp operates with structured triage, multidisciplinary doctor chambers, on-site pathology counters, and a dedicated free pharmaceutical dispensary.

Specialist Doctor Consultations: Senior consultants in General Medicine, Pediatrics, Cardiology, and Gynecology offering dedicated patient consultations.
Rapid Dengue & Viral Diagnostics: On-site NS1 antigen, IgG/IgM rapid tests, and complete blood counts (CBC) for immediate clinical triage.
100% Free Medicine Distribution: Complete courses of prescribed antibiotics, antipyretics, oral rehydration solutions, and essential vitamins handed directly to patients.
Pediatric & Elderly Focus: Dedicated care queues for children, pregnant mothers, and elderly citizens to minimize wait times and physical discomfort.
Chronic Condition Screening: Free screening for hypertension, type-2 diabetes (fasting/random blood sugar), and cardiac rhythm checks.
Hospital Referral Pipeline: Patients requiring intensive intervention are seamlessly transferred to Shilmoon's subsidized or reserved charity beds.

Community Commitment

The impact of free medical camps extends far beyond clinical numbers; it restores peace of mind to vulnerable families during high-risk outbreak seasons.

“Healthcare should never be a privilege reserved for those with deep pockets. When a community faces a viral epidemic, the doors of our medical institutions must open widest for those who have nowhere else to go.”

— Mohammed Tajul Islam
